My Voice Experience

I have 23 years in radio; spots, news, and personality shows in Denver, Dallas and Minneapolis. I have done voiceovers for medical industrials, using highly technical terminology, radio spots for national syndicated programs like Sean Hannity. Currently I voice training videos for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, tutorials for educations websites, and some internet and radio commercials. I am employed as a newscaster part-time in Minneapolis/St Paul,teach violin, and homeschool our children.

My Training

A Journalism graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, I began broadcasting radio news and spots at the age of 19. The best education is acquired on the job-and I've had a lot of jobs. My voice is a gift from God, inherited from my 83 year old mother who sounds like she's 40. I've done a lot of singing and found it really keeps a speaker's voice in shape. I have a keen interest in how the human voice evokes emotion, and in getting information across accurately and efficiently.

Feedback from clients is often very positive, and 'just what they were looking for'. I keep a tally of how many times I hear the word 'perfect.' and honestly, I've lost track. I continue to do news part-time in Minneapolis, but spend most of my time with four young children. We are homeschoolers, constantly presenting information in a creative way. I teach violin lessons privately, and assist on my family's dairy farm as relief calf-raiser. Keeping bees is our hobby gone wild. It’s nice to have a husband who is an audio technician!
