The skill if being able to manipulate my voice and mannerisms to match other has always come naturally to me.
My Voice Experience
Growing up, I always had a knack for voices. Whether it was doing an impersonation of a friend or celebrity, to simply making up character, doing voices was something that served as a constant source of entertainment for my friends and family. I knew at an early age that one day, I would do it professionally. In my teen years I began studying music very seriously as well. I took up bass guitar and singing which eventually lead me to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, I built up my instrumental skills, but also began to study composition for TV, advertising, and various types of multi - media. I found that with the different projects I would be working on, I was not only composing the music, but also doing all the voiceover work as well. This gave me a great 360 degree perspective on the creative process. After graduating from Berklee in May 2009, I decided to pursue my childhood ambitions and take my voiceover talents to a professional level. In June 2009, I hooked up with an agency and have since gone on numerous auditions for various companies( liberty travel, vitamin water) and booked several spots. I also recorded a character demo for animation and I have recently been working with a korean animation company doing multiple voices for an "english as a second language" cd and a pilot cartoon for children.
My Training
I received my Bachelors of Music in 2009 from the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. Their I studied songwriting, film scoring and music for tv/commercials. After graduating I wanted to explore my other natural talents in the voiceover industry. I linked up with an agency and took a voiceover seminar at edge studios in NYC. I eventually began working with a voice coach at edge who helped me to record my voice reel. Since then I have gone on numerous auditions, booked spots for commercials, and recorded for animation and educational projects.
My Studio Equipment
I work on a MacBook Pro and use Logic Studio, Reason, and Digital Performer when working on music and voiceover projects. I use the Apogee ensemble audio interface and record vocals using an NT-1A Rhodes Condenser microphone.
Additional Skills
Being a musician as well as a voiceover artist has helped me be involved in the creative process from many different angles. I done projects where I composed all the music in addition to doing several character voices.
