Voice Description
Despite my age - I'm often told I sound older than I am because of the lower tone of my voice. Others have described my voice as sultry, warm and welcoming. Being in the television news business, I enunciate my words carefully and speak with the correct emphasis on the necessary words to make a script come to life. I'm educated and professional and it comes across well in my speech. I can speak with a southern accent if need be... and enjoy taking on identities other than my own with my voice. I've actually been told my a number of people I'd be great for a 1-900 number!

My Voice Experience
THEATRE:
Since I was a little girl, I've been acting. I've been involved in the theatre for years and have taken on many demanding roles in both the amateur and professional settings. I've played men (the Emporer in the Emporer's New Clothes), little girls (Annie, a lost boy in Peter Pan), older women, (Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn in the Music Man), and played multiple roles in other productions outside the Philadelphia area at the Media Theatre and People's Light and Theatre Company.
REPORTING TELEVISION NEWS:
I graduated from West Virginia Univeristy in 2004 with a Broadcast Journalism degree. While in school, I worked as a bureau reporter for KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh. I was the only student to have a complete story air on a newscast.
After graduating, my first job was as an on-air reporter for WPBNWTOM in Traverse City Michigan. I was live for the eleven o'clock newscast every night. I learned how to think on my feet and go with the flow. I'm very personable and come across as the friendly, girl-next-door. However, I am respected for my news judgement and and ability to convey the story in a concise and acurate manner. I take direction and criticism well, knowing it will only make the final product that much better.
Currently, I am writing and producing the news for KDKA in Pittsburgh. Though I love reporting, the chance to produce in a top 25 market is something I couldn't say no to. But I'd like to keep active in the performing industry, even if it's only through my voice.
