Voice Description

I've been told that I have a pleasant, youthful voice. Vocal training has given me a great deal of vocal control, so I am able to do many, many things with my tone - my voice can be feminine and chipper just as easily as it can be calm and mysterious.

Characterization is very easy for me and I'm a great mimic. I pay a great deal of attention to inflection, and I'm extremely good at foleying. I can scream, choke, death rattle, giggle, maniacally laugh, growl, hiss, and much more.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I've been doing character voices since I was very young, and I'm quite good at picking up vocal patterns - thus I'm extremely apt when it comes to characterizations and mimicry.

I have a very good accent when speaking Japanese - my teachers and many native speakers have told me that by my voice alone, they could not tell I was American.

My Training

While I haven't taken any classes in voice over work specifically, since high school I have been specializing in English and have done readings of my work. I have also taken voice lessons, which improved my pitch control and my breathing.

I am also partway through getting my certification as an Audio Engineer.

My Studio Equipment

I sometimes use a Shure microphone with a Direct Mix USB 3 hub - I have it set up with a pop guard to minimize unnecessary noise.

I also have a Sterling Audio cardioid condenser mic with pop guard and a nice phantom power supply. Currently, this is my mic of choice.

Additional Skills

Aside from voice over work, I am a musician. I have written a number of songs, and I have sung publicly numerous times with audiences over eight thousand people strong. I've won a number of awards at conventions for both my singing voice and acted character performances.

I have been involved with the Anime (Japanese animation) community and the video game community for over twelve years now, and I've learned a lot about what makes a good dub and what makes a bad one.

A keen sense of timing and a good ear make me a valuable asset, and I'm more than willing to take direction.
