Voice Description
l sound like the kind of guy who isn't easily fooled. Always a hint of good-natured skepticism. I sound like a guy who doesn't hand out compliments, or endorsements often, and when I do, I mean it. I sound like someone who thinks things over and makes up his own mind. I sound like a fellow who has been down many long, winding roads on the back of something fast. I sound like a guy who is as weather-beaten as an old barn. I sound as scarred and marked up as Moby Dick. I sound like a guy who has finally figured things out.

My Training
I've been reporting, writing and announcing the morning news at radio stations here in Edmonton, and down in Calgary since 1978.
Stations worked at include CKO-ALLNEWS, Calgary, CIRK-FM, Edmonton, CHED-AM, Edmonton, Power-92, Edmonton and CFMG-FM, Edmonton, better known now, as EZ-Rock 104.9.

My Studio Equipment
I have an Imac and run Sound Studio through an M-Audio pre-USB pre-amp/audio interface. I have a Rode NT1-A microphone. I also have access to a professional studio here in Edmonton called SHARKBYTES STUDIOS LTD. It's run by a former radio buddy, Mark Summers, and he can usually fit me in almost anytime.
Additional Skills
Before I became a broadcaster, I was also, in no particular order, a chicken farmer, a rig worker in the high arctic, a retail sales person, an apprentice carpenter, a bartender and a surveyor. I was on hemo-dialysis for 3 years, and have now had a transplanted kidney for over 8 years, so I know a bit about health care, the kindness of strangers, and gratitude. I have two children and a grand-daughter, who is 4 years old, so I know a bit about family, happiness, and joy. I was an honorary media co-chairman of the Edmonton Humane Society's Capital Campaign, to raise money for the new Margaret Chappelle Centre for Animal Care in 2007. I have just been recruited to join he board of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Northern Alberta and Northwest Territories branch, for 2008.
