Pre-, Post- and Production Services I Offer

My Home Base

, South Carolina, United States

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Southern 'redneck', absolute goofball, serious concerned, serious arrogant/preachy, conforting father, melodic speaker 'NPR' soft kinda style, hostile and angry (clean), hostile and angry (vulgar).

My Voice Experience

I had a bit of a pronounced lisp as a child and had to have a few years of speech therapy to overcome it. In the process, I lost my southern accent and became very aware of how I spoke and used language. Going through school, I took several speech/public speaking courses, as well as writing.

I have done some bit of theatre over the years as well as spoken word performance. I worked in radio for about 9 years after my internship in 1997 and recorded a number of commercial tags and bumpers. I did some of the production work on a lot of them as well.

I tend to enjoy conversation immensely and have, as I am told, the 'gift of gab'. I currently work as a phone operator at a local restaurant and continue to be complimented on my voice on a regular basis.

I guess its time to listen to the advice everyone has given me all of my life and put my voice out there for folks to use!

Here I am!

My Training

Numerous classes on public speaking in school.
A good bit of spoken word performance art.
9 1/2 years in radio.
A little bit of podcasting.
Communication studies in college.
A job as a phone operator for the past 2 years and using it to practice speaking.

My Studio Equipment

At home, I currently have just a very simple mic set up with my computer and just generic software for recording. However, I am able to visit my old station and record using their studios.

Additional Skills

I was a manager of a restaurant for several years in the late 1980's through the mid 1990s. I had formal training in how to speak to people/customers that were angry or uncertain and how to speak in a manner that calms them down. Have experience using my voice for guided meditations and a for a lite form of hypnosis.
