Voice Description

My voice has a great range of tone and expression. The natural timbre of my voice is warm, sexy, and professional. I have always been an excellent imitator, with a quick grasp of accents and characterization. I am able to express the full range of emotions fluently, and can modify the tone, texture, accent, and phrasing of speech with ease and fluidity.
English is my first language, but I have always found it facile to learn new languages and to speak with an accent appropriate to native speakers of that language, including variable dialects and regional accents of English, French, and Spanish, including Castilian, Mexican, and South American Spanish.

My Voice Experience

My recording experience has revolved most significantly around music, and has been wholly positive for both the directors of the project and myself.
The projects I've worked on have necessitated many tonalities, timbres, and character work, and the producers and directors have been fully satisfied with my ability to achieve the results they desire.
Seahorse Studios is the name of the studio in Seattle where the majority of the recording I've done has been produced. Mr. David DelMar is the director and producer of the studio.
I have also done much of the voicemail message recording, telephone publicity, and voice inteviews for many of the businesses I have worked for, including Broadway Babies, Stoa Wine Bar and Restaurant, The New Curiosity Shop, and Medicine Restaurant.

My Training

When I was three years old I stunned my grandfather, who was an Opera singer, and my parents by performing an entire hour of country music I had made up on the spot, in a perfect Nashville accent. They were stunned, as they had no idea I'd ever heard country music in all my short life. I repeated a similar performance, though the next time in a French accent reminiscent of Edith Piaf a year later, and from then on, my love of the flexibility and expression the voice is capable of was firmly cemented.
I continued performing through grade school, and on returning to the West Coast,
I attended Idyllwild Arts Academy, majoring in Theatre Arts, with an added curriculum of classical and jazz vocals.
I was subsequently admitted, with scholarship, to the Theatre Conservatory at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. There I pursued a strenuous acting program, which continued the voice and speech work I had begun at Idyllwild. The study of the International Phonetic Alphabet enhanced my natural ability to imitate different voices and accents.
I left Chicago to travel the world, and have since continued to fill both ears and mouth with many languages, accents, and character types.
Over the last five years I have been involved with a musical group that records at Seahorse Studios in Seattle. I have provided both front and back-up vocals, and am currently working on several musical projects in San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles, which range from folk to funk to jazz.

I also have a background in writing, allowing me to aid in the creation of text and dialogue when needed.
I worked as a chef for several years, strengthening my verbal communication and management skills, and exposing myself to many dialects of both French and Spanish.
I love words and sound, and delight in creating the perfect voice for any text and situation.
