My Voice Experience

My voice over experience started quite by accident actually. As an undergraduate Journalism student at the University of Minnesota, upon seeking an administrative Part-time job at a local radio station the Music Director happened to hear me speaking to the receptionist. He inquired regarding my experience with voice over work ("None, but thank you.")in particular PSAs. Thankfully he hired me on the spot to record (and subsequently also write) station Public Service Announcements.

In the 90's my voice was used as the 'sexy, soft voice' on a recording artist's project and on a couple of film student documentaries. In 1999 while working a promotion at the All Star game, an impromptu decision led to me being the Oreo Cookie Stacking Contest Announcer. "...Ready, steady, stack!" are three words I WISH to get OUT of my brain (smile).

In more recent years, I have recorded voicemail messages for a couple of law firms, construction and apparel company executives; emceed community events, appeared as a spokesperson for events for local and national organizations and narrated a real estate walk-through demo for a small development company.

My Training

Although initially a journalism major, after one summer (at Columbia College in Chicago studying Media Production) and two years of "The U" (of Minnesota), I transferred to a smaller university and received a B.A. in Communications.

Prior to pursuing and earning an MBA in Marketing, I also studied to become a Paralegal and appeared before dozens of Judges (on behalf of attorneys) in state courts throughout Chicago and suburbs.

I am a classically trained pianist--however, I wouldn't count on hearing a song from me as I discontinued my studies and playing maaaaaaaaaaaaany years ago. Nevertheless, my ear is still 'good'.

My Studio Equipment

My knowledge and skills do NOT include audio engineering. However, I work with experienced engineers in various studios and would be willing to work with most anyone to get the job done to the client's satisfaction.

Additional Skills

I currently work as a freelance Publicist and Events/Marketing Consultant, providing assistance with press releases, articles, events conception and strategic business planning for individuals (working with an author presently), nonprofit organizations, small and mid-size businesses.

My skills range from conceptualization and presentation to assisting clients in realizing pre-determined ideas via structure, strategy and resource identification, procurement and implementation.
