Voice Description

My voice is a very regular but very well spoken Australian "guy next door". I can adjust my voice to suit any mood, from light, friendly and funny, to deep, dark and dramatic. I have a great sense of humour which comes out in comedy and also a passionate and serious side which can come out in introductions and presentations.

I have lived in the USA for 9 months working at summer camps with children and other adults and have picked up some very good American accents, Californian, "Gruff" Northern Carolina, or deep southern. The children would often ask me to mimic various members of staff which I would do with aplomb, particularly my Director who would ask me to pretend to be him when playing pranks on other staff. The children would always marvel at my handling of their accent and I was used many times for their entertainment.

As a younger child I lived in France for 18 months at the British School. It was there that my love for mimicry and international friends combined to give me a very skilled handle on English (noble, scouser, east end), Scottish, Irish, French, German, Italian accents (when speaking English). I have limited French speaking capabilites but apparently my accent is near perfect.

My Voice Experience

My experience with Voice Acting is very limited. I have never engaged in anything other than independent short films, but that was mainly in front of camera. This is an avenue that I have always been told to move towards and haven't taken up on it until now.

I am very hard-working, professional and have fun-loving a personality that comes through in my work.

Everybody must start out somewhere so if you are looking for some fresh talent, as yet untested, I will not let you down.

My Training

I am an untrained voice actor. I have only crafted myself on my own experiences. I have acted in short films and have played a variety of different characters so that part is not new to me.

I have BA in English at the University of Sydney so I have a very good grasp on the English language and can speak very eloquently and succintly if required.

Additional Skills

I have worked with children for a number of years and have used my voices considerably over that time as a tool for their entertainment. It has always received a positive response from them regardless of their background or nationality.
