My Voice Experience

In California I would be called at a moments notice - I was on my way to Washington one evening, in my car, and I was called into the Studio in California - I was about to undertake a 1900 mile journey. From the time I park my car, to the time I am done recording usually takes no more than 5 minutes, so it wasn't really a big deal, to take 5 minutes out of my schedule to do the voice-over for the client. They wanted to have it live on the air that Monday (this was a Friday night at 8pm) and my client had just secured their client and obviously wanted to impress them with the turnaround time - and of course I was happy to keep that momentum going for them. I love the world of voice-overs, and if truth be told, I love to hear my voice - as do my children when they hear me on the radio! Most of my recordings have been for Major Branded products in the UK and in the USA, in California, my recordings were more localized within the County that I resided in, and appeared on between 5 - 10 radio stations for extended periods (up to 6 months), playing on average 4-8 times per day (depending on the contract.

My Training

I have a degree in Ind Psychology, Business Economics, Diplomas in Personnel and Training and Industrial Relations and various other Communication, Presentation, and Life Courses. I am also a Licensed and Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist and Reflexologist and Aromatherapist, and have training in Oncology Massage, Geriatric Massage, Sports Massage, and Body Treatments.

I have some performing arts experience under my belt having won Best Actress Award (but that was in my final year of high school...), I have won Poetry Eisteddfods, I have had poetry published. I love the Performing Arts and would love to develop that interest further.

I have received formal training from a voiceover Professional in England, which I received around 1998.

I have written Health Articles for a local newspaper in California - I did that for about one year, on a monthly basis.

I won a voice-over competition in South Africa when in my early twenties. I received a prize of a free visit to the Radio Station and was allowed about one minute of airtime talking about the win....

I have had to make many presentations to large audiences in my professional career in England and in the USA, the latter for Fund raising and Awareness for a Camp for Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses.

I have appeared on local TV in California being interviewed, and have also appeared on local TV in Kampala, Uganda, whilst interviewing the Deputy Prime Minister - that was aired on Ugandan National TV on their prime Saturday night news headline spot!!

I do not have any studio equipment at this time. I am happy to go to a studio location to record at the moment.

I have a very easygoing personality, comfortable in ever-changing environments, have had an extraordinary life. I am very flexible and willing to adapt. My voice is too! My work history has enabled me to mix with many different cultures and environments across the world, and I have much experience in project and operations and facilities management working across many industries. My skills are very transferable.
