Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

As a traffic and travel broadcaster I supply over 100 bulletins per shift for BBC Stations as well as commercial radio stations such as Talksport, the country's best known and biggest talk sport radio staion, and reaches out to the 'Man in a Van' audience, which when delivered, I allow some of my old London accent to creep in. I have lived in many areas of the UK, and can deliver a bulliten or script in a Northern, West Country and Southern dialect. They are all very different and although it is not overly 'put on', (so as not to appear false) it is clear I have lived in these areas, relating to the listener and securing the trust that I am 'local'.

Additional Skills

I have a higher education, with A Levels, but did not attend college or university, instead going for the 'old school' approach and getting a job on a newspaper when living in Spain, for a larger UK newspaper with an expat readership. This led to working for an Member of Parliament as a press officer, and then in to the BBC as a journalist and broadcaster.
