Being a voice over and living in Italy I picked up the language and Italian accent perfectly: the cadence, the tone, all of it! My mother in law is from Queens, NY and Long Island and I will say this: My husband won't let me do his mother in the bedroom- it's too close to home! My other accents are: Queens, New York - both the Jewish accent and the non-jewish accent(!);Spanish; Italian; Upstate New York and Minnesota, Gum-chewing ditsy girl, Hollywood Starlet. I am able to read children's books with uncanny accuracy. If there is a need in the script for different voices I am able to perform it. I practice with my four kids every day!

My first A+ ever in school was performing all the voices of a Charlie Brown story: Peppermint Patty, Lucy, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Linus. When I was working as a designer for Calvin Klein in the 1990s a friend in commecicals said he would hire me for a voice over job he was casting if I could get the day off. "What's a voice over do?" He told me. A week later I quit my job at Calvin Klein, found a voice over coach, Wendy Dillon, and took five lessons before she said I was ready to cut a demo. I gave my demo to a model friend I had to take into her agent at a modeling agency (!). He gave my demo to Debrah Sherry at J. Michael Bloom Agency. Two weeks later I recorded a national radio spot for Becks Beer. In the years I have been a voice over I have hustled in New York, Los Angeles and Orange County, CA markets for jobs. I love to work my voice and I love to give a producer that they want. I have worked so many jobs: New York Life, VH-1, Dove Anti-perspirant, General Nutrition Center, Mondavi Wines, Body By Jake, Millstone Coffee, Rock the Vote, SOS Brillo Pads...After twelve years I can't even remember all the jobs I have had. Those who aren't in the business think one national commercial is all I need. The truth is I like voice over work. When I took time off to have children (there is no way to access your diaphram when there is a baby pushing up on it!!) I kept up to speed by reading to m children all the voices in their books. The voice, or my voice, can turn anything around and change the outcome just by one's speaking voice. People listen to me and listen to my voice. Usually, I notice this when dealing with customer service people on the phone. But that's another story. One of the jobs I am proud of I did for the director/photographer David LaChappelle. I did a PSA fr Rock the Vote. It never aired, unfortunately, because it was so risque- it was David La Chappelle. For 2 years I lived in Florence, Italy. I am able to speak about most of Italy, art, architecture and traveling. For over 25 years I have been involved in physical fitness: I was a certified aerobic instructor, I choreographed routines and currently I am involved in pilates.
