Voice Description
I have a strong voice that comes across as a D.J. or talk show host. I still have some of the mid-western Hoosier accent but nothing heavy.
I have done messages for on-hold and voice over for period re-enactments. I have also played Mordcha the Inn Keeper in Fiddler on the Roof as well as characters in other plays and vignettes.
I can easilly show emotion such as for patriotic musicals or monoloques. I have been involved in amatuer preformances since the age of 8.
Have a vocal musical background, tenor range, but not looking for vocal musical work.
I have a very good ear and am creative when it comes to characterizations.

My Voice Experience
It seems that my voice is always "on". I don't try to sound like anyone or pretend I'm a D.J. or talk show host. It comes natural. I am always comfortable in front of an audience or a microphone and I love talking about anything.
I'm the guy who would talk to a wall, and will talk to you in the elevator. It's difficult for me to understand why public speaking is one of the greatest fears people have.
Even though time has taught me that I don't always have to be the one to say something, my mind is usually going just the same thinking i might have said this or that.
In spite of how much i enjoy a good conversation, I am an excellent listener. Knowing this is one of the most abused social graces, I like to make it a point to listen to others. For me, it's great learning those little tidbits about others they don't share with others, just because I'll listen and they sense I can be trusted.
I have done many of my own recordings, mostly using subliminal messages with music beds and sound effects. I have done a few recordings for others but nothing I would call of professional quality.
My Training
I have never had training as voice over talent. Again, all my experinece has come just from doing things.
I am completely fluent in Spanish right down to the accent. Latins who speak Spanish with me always ask where I'm from, and they usually guess Brazil or Cuba. I consider this to be a great privilidge and an asset.
I am a writer, although I have only writen for myself. I write Christmas stories for my family and have a collection of about 10 years. Some better than others.
I was the MC for our Spring Concert all four years of High School. I have also been the MC for a number of musical productions that are church related.
I was awarded a vocal music scholarship to attend Ball State University when I graduated from high school.
My Studio Equipment
My "studio", such as it is, consists of my computer (not a Mac), Logitech USP mic., and some software such as Audacity, sound pallete for sound effects, a few music beds and a good ear.
Knowledge of Audio Engineering? I won't claim any.
Additional Skills
I have done voice recordings of documents for the blind that were quite long, intense and technical and on short notice.
I have been a frequent guest in the past on radio broadcasts on Keswick Radio WKES now located in Lakeland, Fl. as well as HCJB Missionary Radio in Quito, Ecuador.
While I have no training in Audio Engineering that is not to say that I am unfamilair with it. However, I do not have hands on knowledge operating a board or doing a solo broadcast.
