Voice Description
I happen to have a "young" sounding voice even though I am an experienced and professional broadcast journalist. Ever since I was a child, I've always been a mimic. I had an elderly Italian born grandfather that I would often mimic as a child (always behind his back) and when in high school and college I would sometimes be called the "class clown" especially imitating people from movies, television, radio, plays. I only speak American English but I do love to create and re-create the voices remembered from movie cartoons, movie characters and those in television sit coms, etc.

My Voice Experience
I had a successful forty-two year career as a radio/television reporter. In two instances I was elevatated to news director. I happened to have spent two years in France in the military and have often had a lot of laughs trying to do French/American voices....as well as mimicing my father's broken English (he came to Amercia as an 8 year old) and could never say correctly the word SLICE. Often at the dinner table he'd for a SLIDE of bread to be passed his way. We also had a family that lived next to us who were from Mexico...and If often developed "accents" that were a hybrid of Mexican/American.
My Training
I have a bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University where I majored in broadcast journalism...but as a "mocker", a "mimicker" I've learned to "mock" the accents of people who speak the street talk of African-Americans....
and I would often times mimic the golf pro at the country club where I caddied. He happened to be a mative of Scotland...so I picked up some dialect lessons from him. Also, because I have a "youthful" sounding voice I often simply walk around the house speaking aloud in a voice that is more akin to that of a much younger person. I researched, wrote, anchored and produced more than 60 extended "pieces" for television news on such subjects as the history of Cleveland, Ohio industries and businesses...and its many magnificent buildings. I also can do a very good impersonation of an "old prospector" with a grizzly sounding voice. It is on my demo CD.

Additional Skills
I also specialized in researching, writing, anchoring "pieces" for television news
that had to do with the thoughts, ideas, considerations, planning of ballparks, arenas, football stadiums. I am also a history buff...and if I hadn't had a career in broadcast news....I would have certainly sought a career as a teacher of history in high school or college.
