Voice Description

how do i begin to describe my voice . well first of all i began singing in church when i was 6. i started out with a very soft whispery voice that has progressed and voiced over into a louder more projected warm and elegant tone that entices more than not, my friends and family. i have done karaoke time and again and have been told i should pursue my talent. i auditioned for american idol last august in austin, tx ,but to my surprise didnt even get past the producers as well as some of the greatest talent ive ever heard so i didnt feel too bad. i dont think that anyone even knows what american idol is looking for each year but we all know its something different every time. anyway...all i know is i have a good voice and would use it to the best of my ability to glorify MY HOLY SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST as HE has given this gift to me for a reason and i believe it is to be a witness for HIM. If any way possible i will do what it takes to fulfill my gift . ive known ever since i was little that i was supposed to use this gift in a way he would be pleased, not like some of the popstars that we have today showing their bodies in a distasteful manner. i know that has nothing to do with my voice but it does describe my character. i do believe that i have a wide range from high to medium tones and some say i sound like a mixture of mandy moore and norah jones if that helps.

My Voice Experience

i have had much experience you could say just not taken it to a higher level as i have been too afraid of what people think . i have overcome that and have begun to start again singing for crowds. i have sung many songs of different types from Christian to pop. i can sing almost anything you put in front of me as i can hear myself and my tone is almost always on key as i am not perfect but do have a knack for having my voice match background music and can be a backup or duet or whatever is needed as i can catch on to a melody and sing the high or low part . i call this a gift because it has always come naturally for me.

My Training

i have had three voice lessons in my entire lifetime , these were to critique my voice before american idol auditions. other than those i have taught myself all i know and all that i could and continue to learn more and more . i have always had music in my daily schedule whether it be music class in grade school , piano in middle school , or band and choir in high school.

i just have a knack like i said before for being able to listen to a song and sing the background or the lead part if needed or decided . i can also hear the lead part of the music and then listen to the background music as well and be able to put them together and know exactly how to compile my voice.
