My Voice Experience

One of my hobbies is to read documents like employee manuals or guidelines to whomever will listen. I always read them as if I were recording it for future use. My colleagues usually respond with laughter because, frankly, it's a silly little hobby. After they laugh, they usually say that I should do voice over work because I "do that so well!"
So, here I am taking a chance. I'd have so much fun doing this work, especially if it's humorous. I would LOVE to be the voice of voicemail system prompts or something really techy that would make my voice into the voice of a robot or car system or....
Radio ads would be fun too.
Friends of mine who make music have requested that I record myself reading poems and I had so much fun doing it that I thought I'd see if anything could come of offering my services in this manner.
I've been working as receptionist (and admin etc) for different companies for years and I always focus on my "phone voice" and manner. When I train new hires, I always include guidelines about speed and intonation when offering customer service.
You can still hear me on Method Inc's, my former employer, main message that comes on before 8am and after 6pm and on weekends when you call 415 901 6300. It's a natural voice recording without much modulation.

My Training

all of the classes I took during my art degree required presentations to the class. one of the classes was focused solely on how to do the presentations. i excelled in these areas and really enjoyed them.
other than that, you could say I'm just a vocal ham who loves to play with her voice and would love to work with someone needing a character or very professional sounding voice for a project.
