My Voice Experience

Over the years I've been involved in the radio/audio and video industries in a number of roles which have given me wide experience.

1. Music and chat Radio presenter (in chronological order, continuous regular freelance work from 1977 to date):

This work has involved presenting all types of music shows from specialist to chart based; and fronting various live events including roadshows and music shows on stage. I have experience in all types of radio playout systems including BCX, DAD, Selector and Genesys.

2. Voice Overs - continuous regular work from 1980 to date.
Hundreds of projects including narrations for training and corporate videos, tourist products, DVDs, radio commercials and CBT products across a huge range of clients from Government departments through to production companies in USA, Thailand, Malta and the UK.

My Studio Equipment

Main software used - a combination of Audition, Wavelab and Logic depending on the needs of the job. I also have Diamond Cut Audio Restoration Tools for use when needed.

The software runs on a mix of PC and IMAC which are used depending on the job in hand. I also use Adobe Premier and Final Cut Pro running on a MacPro for voice to picture work.

Portable recording - Marantz PMD671 compact flash recorder.

Mics - a variety but for voicers the main workhorses are Sennheiser MD421, and AT2020. Different mics used for tonal variations.

Additional Skills

1. Video Producer, Director and Editor.
Since 1985 I've regularly produced, directed and edited video projects including corporate training and communications programmes, and documentaries, again for a range of clients but mostly for UK Government Departments.

2. Sound Recordist
Since 1985 I've also acted as sound recordist on a number of occasions for video shoots, using a variety of equipment such as SQN4 mixers, Sennheiser MKH416 and 816 mics, Schoeps mics and Micron radio mic systems

3. TV Work as talent.
Limited on screen but I have presented to camera for a number of local news magazine features.

4. Music recording and production.
I've co-produced local bands for album recordings and have a good understanding of multi-track recording/studio techniques and software.
