I have been a professional entertainer over the last twenty years specializing in live presentations. I have been involved with projects which have required me to learn a scripted part and also jobs in which improvisation was an essential part of a successful performance. In my work as a professional musician I have been lauded for my work as a frontman and also for the quality of my voice both when singing songs and speaking to audiences.
Recently, at a rather somber occasion I was asked to read passages from the Rite of Burial. An industry person was moved to remark more than once that any time I felt I wanted to move into reading professionally I could have a lucrative career given the quality of my reading, the clear diction in which it was delivered and the intrinsic power of the style in which the passages were spoken.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education as well as a Masters in Performance from Texas Christian University. As a music educator I have had the responsibility of presenting my groups over and over again through the last twenty years, developing my differing styles of presentations though "real world" experience. I have been asked over and over again to lend my vocal talents in announcements over PA systems both as a live performcer and as a broadcasted voice. I studied voice with Dame Arlene Sollenberger at TCU. I have been working in the music industry over twenty years as a performing artist and front man for different groups.
I currently favor the Shure 58 Condensor Mic. It is inexpensive and provides a quality recording. I am aware of the decay ratio over distance and have worked very successfully with it over and over. I bridge into my computer using an XLR cable and 8 channel board. My current software is Sonar and Audacity for mixing. I have a library of special effects and sounds and am quite able to mix down my projects at home or travel to a studio if a vendor wishes to do a recording in studio.
I am a teacher by professio. I present materials to my students every day I teach in a clear and professional manner. I am also a professional musician and frontman for several working bands in the DFW area. I am respected for my skills in performing Rock and Country Western music styles, as well as being able to sing in Spanish and do a quite good job with SInatra tunes as well. I have been employed as a seasonal employee as Six Flags Over Texas the last two years as a game show host for "Face the Music". I was trusted with the primary spot, working 5 shows for 5 days a week. I did this for fun.
