My Voice Experience

Flipping through my latest issue of U-Turn Magazine from USAA insurance a few years ago, a podcasting contest caught my eye. All I had to do was enter about a five minute audio story about any topic I wanted and I'd have a chance to win an iPod video. Sounded good to me so I gave it a try. I already had somewhat of a home studio at the time so I could easily produce my story, and what better topic than my love for Appalachian Heritage music. Needless to say the folks at USAA loved it and since then have hired me to record a second story for them in 2008. You can hear them both in my voice demos.

Additional Skills

I've studied guitar since I was six years old, and have been trained by national flatpick guitar champion Robin Kessinger. In the eleven years that I've been playing I have held numerous placing in contests including three state champion titles in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Also, I've had many opportunities to perform on stage in a concert setting and on the radio. This is something that has allowed me to practice and fine tune my stage presence and voice skills.
