Voice Description

I have a soft lower voice with a hazy nature to it for the calm narration pieces. Then I have my show host style mid-range voice. My accents span many American accents such as southern and upper mid-west and Canada. I also enjoy doing exaggerated British and Jewish accents. I can do a deep announcer type voice and a higher voice for entertainment promos for kids. I enjoy messing with voices and pitches to find unique characters and can do a number of impressions including Spongebob, and most of Family Guy.

My Voice Experience

As a 24 year old male, people still tell me I sound like a kid. This works in my favor so that I am able to do more goofy and young sounding voices while still being able to do a booming older voices as well. I occasionally work as a voice talent at Radio Disney AM1290 which fuels my need to be a bit goofy and eccentric in my various voices. At Radio Disney I created three characters for promos that I believe turned out very well. The job was a dream come true seeing as I have had a fake radio show since I was 11. To this day I listen back to those 12 tapes of the Adam and Partow morning show. Not many have heard these tapes nor have they heard Richmond's Radio Disney since its AM, but it comes down to passion. I love doing this, and no matter who hears me, I know I will talking to myself for the rest of my life.

My Training

I have a Bachelor's Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University for Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. Through my classes, I learned how to talk on the radio and in front of a camera. I have also gone through an audition with a voice over company in Norfolk, Virginia. My greatest experience came from Radio Disney where their staff helped me grow creatively and gave me the freedom to try many different voices for their promos.

Additional Skills

I am a web designer and am very knowledgeable of xhtml and css. In addition to my voice work, I also produce many promos for Radio Disney and have experience with both Adobe Audition for audio and Adobe Premiere for audio and video. I have experience with beta cameras and digital cameras shooting feature and package stories for my television production classes. I have also worked in the studio as a camera operator, prompter operator, and editor for VCU insight which is the campus news show.
