Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Having been involved in amateur theatre since the age of four, I have been required to master many different accents.

Having lived in Leeds for three years, I can speak like a true West Yorkshireman which is used (let's be honest) for more humorous occasions.

I can transform into an authentic upper-class gentleman also which one can utilise for more formal use.

Coming from Burton-upon-Trent, naturally I have an East Midlands accent, mi duck.

My Voice Experience

My experience has mainly been in sports journalism. This has involved providing commentary on league football (soccer) which has been used on BBC One and Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.

I also perform considered voice pieces for news and sports bulletins on BBC local radio and have added voiceovers to radio documentaries aimed at a BBC Radio 5live audience.

I have also worked as an actor in the BAFTA award-winning 'Headline History' online experience, playing a Roman poet.

My Training

The BBC has given me extensive voice training in areas concerning journalism using their quality training centre in Bristol. I have also had thorough one-to-one training with news editors and other senior journalists.

I am on the verge of completing a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds being trained by current and former professionals from across the industry.

My on-stage acting performances have also given me the experience of projecting to large audiences in a variety of styles.

My Studio Equipment

I have easy access to ISDN lines as well as full studio desks. I can use QuickEditPro, Adobe Audition, Burli and Avid Express editing software.

Additional Skills

I speak varying degrees of French, Spanish and Italian with an excellent grasp of the respective accents allowing me to communicate with a diverse range of people.

I have also taught French to children from the ages of 4 to 11 which has given me experience in communicating with a younger age range in a controlled and assertive manner.
