Voice Description

My voice is versatile in the range of characters I can produce. I can cover Mickey Mouse - I use that during stand-up, Bill Clinton, Foghorn Leghorn, Igor, Jimmy Stuart, generic Leperchaun, and various actor-impersonations (I play a hitman this coming winter in which I'll use my Sean Connery-007 manerisms and voice) most of which I adjust slightly for whatever purpose is required.

I enjoy the different dialects and accents of various foreign laguages, Spanish, Russian, British, British-cockney (period cockney mostly). Of course the quintisential Pirate-voice and even an amusing Scooby-Doo. It really depends on what you need, I can usually create a character to suit. I also have a few years of Spanish under my belt, and from written copy and with preparation can pronounce it sufficiently. My accent is fairly Castillan though.

My Voice Experience

I got into acting via Public Television, which gave me my first opportunity to experiment with Microphones. It was a sketch-comedy show and required me to play several characters. Sometimes a Fop, sometimes the straight-man Narrator, or Anchorman for a Fake-News sketch.

It was during this period that I got noticed and was invited to audition for some plays around the valley. In one play (a musical) my part required that I sing two songs, one solo, and one duet. The director was so impressedd with the character that I created that she allowed me to sing "in-character" basically turning these 1950's erra songs into an extra bit of comedy because I allowed the character to crack his voice frequently. I modeled him after the evil "Duke" in "Moulin Rouge" - very nasal and sinister.

I collaborated with a friend I made in the comedy troupe to write and produce a low-brow animated cartoon. I recorded all of the audio digitally and using SoundForge, cut the 4+ minute comedy piece.

My Training

The majority of my training comes from theater and stand-up comedy. The larger part of the comedy background is in improv comedy and sketch comedy.

Often our exterior shooting would result in poor audio with too much interferance from background sources, so we would be required to V.O. the entire sketch in-studio.

I have nearly 10 years of theater experience. I also am involved with some smaller projects through a local production company that shoots independant film and music videos for local bands. Both acting and writing.

My Studio Equipment

Yamaha 8-track switcher
KORG media 16 track mixer Digital

Additional Skills

I have a broad sense of humor, and can easily adapt my voice to fit your needs. Based on a fair description of your project, I can apply my improvisational ability to make voice-work lend more to the text than what sometimes is written.

I am flexible, and have even played the voice of craggy old women with some success. (i.e. witches, ect.)

I have 13+ years worth of extensive knowledge of the fruit/vegetable markets (retail standpoint) and could see that lending itself well to many projects involving narration of cooking shows, or agricultural videos.
