My Voice Experience

New to Voice Overs, I have been a stage performer for 30 years. I am a classically-trained Musical Theatre performer who specializes in character roles, but I also do standard ingenue or "other woman" roles.

I am a freelance writer, and I write all the scripts for my demos, unless otherwise stated, i.e., AudioBook demos.

I am also an award-winning composer. I write songs, jingles, and shows.

I have been on stage through dance and piano since age 7, theatre since 14, and Voice since age 16. I studied privately (Dr. Renee Sokol-Huff), and in college (Dr. Rhonda Fisher). I have studied Voice independently and with select instructors since then. I have performed in musicals, plays, dinner theatre, opera, oratorio, and competitions in the Southeast and in Korea.

I have Stage Managed Equity Productions, an opera, and a casino revue, working with New York directors.

I currently host an online radio show, "Musical Theatre Talk with Trish Causey." Many topics have been about the Voice, including technique, training, character/cabaret roles, ENT issues, and more.

I teach Audition, Vocal Technique, and Scene Study workshops at nearby arts venues and local schools. I help high school students prepare a song/monologue for college auditions. I have been hired as a Vocal Coach for 2 Junior Miss contestants (who both won Talent in their competitions) and for 2 bands.

As a composer, I have composed two musicals for the stage as well as an opera.

I am currently writing a book on the Audition process for the stage, and I attend Tulane University, pursuing a degree in Anthropology with a Minor in Journalism.

I also have Finale notation software for creating music scores or jingles that can then be recorded. My Korg keybord is also available if any sound effects need to be recorded.

I have a printer that prints on CD's, should a CD with cover artwork need to be submitted.

Additional Skills

I do my own demos in my home studio, recording, edit, and mix them down. I can provide the finished product in several formats: MP3, WAV, AAC, WMA, OGG, etc.

I am an experienced musical theatre performer and professional Stage Manager. I am also an award-winning composer and free-lance writer.
