I am a professional singer, actress, voice actor talent, songwriter, arranger, and owner/coach at VoiceAndPerformance website. I earned my Bachelor's in music from the University of Miami School of Music and have extensive theatre & on-camera training. I am currently pursuing my Master's from the University of North Texas College of Music.

I have a great range and can vary my voice depending on your specific needs. From the "girl-next-door" to smooth and easy going, I can be sweet & sultry, informative & friendly, warm & compassionate, articulate, or smart & sophisticated. I love characterizations & making up funny voices.

I LOVE characterizations & accents. Here are several characters I can do well:

East Indian / Pakistani, British, Hispanic, Brooklyn New York, Middle Eastern, American Southern belle, Hillbilly / Southern Accent, Non-Descript African, Caribbean / Islander, Indian-British, Urban, Valley Girl, Chinese Characterization, Older Mom, Young Soccer Mom, Teenager, Robot, Child-like, Upperbrow & snooty, Sultry & sexy, Bleating goat (I know...very random), Male Peacock (also very random, but we had one as a pet & they do make sounds!)

I am a quick study as well & love to mimic. I'm not afraid to try new accents or characterizations.

My Voice Experience

Gosh! I have always mimicked people since I was growing up and still do. I grew up in a Pakistani household in Southern Indiana of all places. Imagine that! A cocoa-puff in a bowl of milk! ;)

I began mimicking my parents when I was young and everyone else along the way. My family traveled a lot & I got to try out more accents and characters....and the rest is history. Now, I love to learn and create new characters.

My Training

I earned my degree from the University of Miami School of Music and have had extensive experience in theater, voiceover, singing, and vocal coaching. I have performed professionally in regional plays and musicals throughout the DC metro area where I performed for 7 years until I recently moving to the Dallas market. I have also appeared in commercials, films, on-camera narrations, and corporate industrials.

Some of my theatre credits include: 2002 Page to Stage Festival (Kennedy Center), Finalist in 2003 DC Actors' Center Showcase, The Who's Tommy! (Studio Theatre), 2003 & 2004 South Asian Literary and Theatre Arts Festival, and The Washington Savoyards.

I am also a trained singer with 15 years of professional singing experience ranging from opera, operetta, musical theater and jazz to adult contemporary. I can read music and can sing both lead & harmonies.

My range is alto & soprano. Vocal Styles include: jazz, contemporary, musical theater, legit / classical, belt, and pop. If you want it sung straight with no vibrato, you got it! If you want it all vibrato, I got you covered.

I am currently working on my Masters of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas (2012)

She is also a recording artist trained in classical & contemporary voice. She received her Bachelor's of Music from University of Miami Frost School of Music and is pursuing her Master's in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas.
