My Voice Experience
Jimmy has been a voice actor since 1980 and in addition to all the movie spots (recently: Race to Witch Mountain, Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer, Sin Nombre, Borat, X-Men 3, Devil Wears Prada, The Omen, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, The Hills Have Eyes, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Walk The Line) and TV promos, he's the signature voice of College Football Saturday on Fox Sports Net, and is the announcer on the long running Divorce Court series.
He's done promos for ESPN's NFL Countdown, Fox Sports, Fox Soccer Channel, FSC Plus, TNT, FSN, Nat Geo, ABC, has narrated a number of TV series like Fine Living's Ride of Your Life and CARography, and ESPN's Truck Stop.
He was the announcer and comedy cast member on Magic Johnson's late night talk show. He's a former VJ as well, having created and hosted the music video series Real Videos (now in its 26th year), and Videosyncrasy on the Family Channel.
Jim is considered to be one of the top 500,000 voice actors in the world.
My Training
Jimmy started off in radio and created and hosted two national music video shows in the 80's and 90's, all the while working in v.o. and on camera acting as well. He studied for years with numerous voiceover teachers, and even learned to sing with the legendary vocal coaches Lee & Sally Sweetland. He studied on-camera acting for years with Kathryn Gately, Laura Henry and at the Film Industry Workshop. Jimmy also is an accomplished director/cameraman/editor who traveled the world shooting documentaries and music videos, hitting some 33 countries.

Sennheiser 416 Shotgun Microphone, Avalon VT 737 sp Vacuum Tube Pre-Amp, Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro Mixer, Telos Zephyr ISDN unit, Pro Tools, Sound Studio, Mac G5, all ensconced in a glorious Whisper Room sound booth. Jimmy uses an M-Box Mini & Mac Book Pro Laptop for recording while traveling in hotel rooms, ships and even cars worldwide. It's true!
Additional Skills
At 6'-8", Jimmy Hodson is the tallest voiceover talent in the world. Well, at least for yards around. He's easy to work with as he's done so much on both sides of the camera and microphone, he knows what you're up against. He loves medicine, sports, science and non-fiction, so is a great choice for those kinds of narrations. His home ISDN studio in a secret Greater L.A. beachside location is truly top notch (it sounds great) and he can go "live" to any other ISDN studio, or you can listen in via phone patch or just let him do his thing. Then the high quality audio files can be e-mailed, FedExed or sent over the internet to your iDisk or FTP site in any format! Or you can just get an e-mail with a link to download the file- a snap!
