Voice Description

its rather hard to explain my voice. i like to think of it having a mature, yet some what playful tone to it. i am able to come up with a British accent on the spot (which i would usually put on while flying back and forth from New Hampshire to Oregon.) i can sound deep and serious, i can be perky and cheerful, or i am able to make it sound like i am crying. i do have a loud voice, for when i have to do announcements at church, or in the art club i hosted at my school.

My Voice Experience

as a child, i was enrolled in an acting class in Boston. we had this woman who was from south Africa, with the thick accent. we were all included to have good rolls, made our own costumes so on and so forth. as i got a little older, i became obsessed with singing (hoping that some day i would become a famous singer) and took the after school choir classes, along with the yearly musicals, such as the big mean ogre (where i was casted as a lovely little wood nymph.) at the time, i was living in Amherst NH, and was sent to a private school where we did have a drama class for all girls, and then one for the boys. the main production that the girls did was about Helen Keller, where i was casted as Mrs. Keller. but during that time i was doing the small production, i was also taking acting classes one on one with the director i had mention from when i was a child.

she also had a little group of young teens (about 5 of us) who all got together every night rehearsing for small plays that we would 1. video or 2. act out for our families. After the year was over, i had turned 14 and decided to move to Beaverton Oregon where my father lived, and tried to enroll at the arts and communication school they had there (i was mainly trying to get in for my painting skills) but i had no luck. so i ended up enrolling at Beaverton high school. they had a drama department, in which i signed up for.

The drama teacher's name was Joel Morrello. he is a well known director who has retired as of recently. (he didn't like me very much) I took his classes where i had learned miming, theater design, group plays, lighting and poems.

in my junior year at the high school i was in acting 2, where we assigned the play "spoon river anthology" i was the milliner. it wasn't necessarily a play, but every one was assigned a rather LONG paragraph. little stories if you will. some how each character was connected with one another.

also my junior year, i had tried out for the musical GODSPELL and was given no lines, but singing rolls.

then my senior year i was in IB theater, where the whole class was to preform midsummers night dream. Here's the catch... instead of it being in the elizabethen times, we had set it to the time of when the native americans were at large and stil owned most of the US. I played bottom. a smart ass if you will. instead of being an native american, me and the rustics (a group of all men in my class) and i were lumber jacks. during this time i met the my mentor, David Ogden Stiers. Mr stiers happens to be good friends of my drama teacher (and was his mentor when he was still in school) he3 is known for his rolls as clogsworth from beauty and the beast, and many other rolls in movies and shows. he trained me on my character as bottom and how to become one with the character.
i haven't been able to get in contact with him for a while.

now, after i graduated year 2006, i have not been attending college. i have been working full time doing such as telemarketing, or working with inbound calls, which all require you to read a script, either leaving voice mail greetings or voice mail messages. and some times the case was where when i would call a client, i would have to basically add lib talking to the client explaining our events, and how it could be an excellent opportunity to net work with their peers. to keep my self entertained on those long boring days, i would speak with a British accent, in which doing so promoted me up to the london events we were holding.

My Training

all of my skills come from working with theater my whole life. whether it was from acting classes, to high school productions, along with 4 years of theater training in high school, choir or through work. i have been singing in choir through out the years of my life, along with acting. i am also an artist, not like paintint but drawing people and such. i learned about voice overs from my mentor David Ogden Stier.
